"Off The Wall" isn’t the only great thing to come out of 1979. Born in Los Angeles, CA, Jaymz Hardy-Martin III was destined to leave his mark on the entertainment industry. With over 2 decades of professional experience as a premier audio and Front of House (FOH) engineer, his career spans the highest echelons of music, touring, and live television.

Jaymz got his start playing the trumpet at the early age of 9. His talents took him to heights some only imagine, beginning with his acceptance to the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Early in his matriculation, Jaymz realized his desire to be a career trumpeter was fading, overshadowed by a deep passion for the production and technology of music. He shifted his focus, majoring in Music Production & Engineering.

Through his studies, Jaymz absorbed studio techniques from some of the industry's greatest minds. After three years at Berklee, he returned to Los Angeles, where his preparation met opportunity. Vigorously networking with his favorite studios, his dedication led to two job offers within 24 hours of his arrival. He quickly ascended through the ranks at Hollywood’s legendary Skip Saylor and Larrabee Studios, evolving from a runner to an assistant engineer, and ultimately to a highly sought-after freelance engineer.

Over his expansive career, Jaymz has produced, scored, recorded, and mixed for music royalty. His studio and live credits include work with Tupac, MC Lyte, Janet Jackson, Ludacris, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo, Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran, and Justin Bieber.

Transitioning heavily into the live touring space in 2005, Jaymz has excelled on a global scale. Spanning six continents and accumulating millions of miles in the air, he has toured with heavyweights like Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, SZA, Toni Braxton, Mary J. Blige, Pharrell Williams, Nicki Minaj, and many more. His exceptional playback audio work earned a Grammy in 2015 with Pharrell Williams in the category of Best Live Pop Solo Performance for “Happy.”

Jaymz’s mastery of high-stakes live audio has naturally made him a go-to engineer for monumental television broadcasts. Working frequently alongside some of the best Musical Director’s in the business, Jaymz’s audio expertise has been featured on the world's biggest stages, including Super Bowl Halftime Shows, NBA All-Star Games, Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies, Grammy Awards, Oscars, Verzez, BET Awards, BET Juneteenth and countless other television specials.

“When mixing and using Pro Tools in a live environment, you bring a different approach in comparison to the studio,” Jaymz explains. “I love the change of pace, and the high stakes of getting things done immediately. No second takes.”

Operating under his production and engineering banner, Skylar Jaymz, he continues to push the boundaries of audio excellence. Despite his 26 year veteran status and a resume most only dream of, if you ask Jaymz, “This is only the beginning.” Jaymz currently resides in Georgia.
